프라하에서 돌아온 후 먹고 살기 위해 취직을 하고 사업을 하며 5년간 그림에서 점점 멀어졌다. 그동안에도 시간이 날 때마다 아이패드에 나의 지도를 그려갔지만, 캔버스에 다시 붓을 올리기까지에는 많은 시간이 걸렸다. 몸과 마음의 건강이 모두 상하도록 무리하게 일하다가 2021년 여름 나는 사업을 그만두었다. 5년 만에 캔버스에 그리는 그림이라 설레면서도 조금은 두려웠다. 일하는 동안 자주 들었던 노래를 떠올리며 스케치했다. 떠나온 아름다운 고향에 관한 노래였다. 그림을 완성했을 때 나는 고향에 돌아온 기분이었다.

After returning to Seoul from Prague, I got a job to live on and started a business, and for 5 years I gradually got

away from painting. In the meantime, whenever I had time, I drew my map on the iPad, but it took a lot of time

to put the brush on the canvas again. I quit my business in the summer of 2021 after working too hard to damage both my body and mind. It was my first painting on canvas in 5 years, so I was excited but also a little afraid. I sketched while thinking of a song I often listened to while working. It was a song about a beautiful hometown left. When I finished the painting, I felt like I was back home.
